Making A Bobble Stitch A bobble stitch is a textured crochet stitch used in many different patterns. This stitch can be used to add texture to a project or place them in a way so that they make an image. In a previous post I posted how to make a crocheted pickle, this pattern uses the bobble stitch to add the bumps just like a pickle would have. The abbreviation for the bobble stitch is BO or dc5tog. Working five incomplete doubles into the same stitch, then pulling through all loops on your hook, you will create a bobble stitch. Then you push the bobble to the front of your work. Making the bobble stitch begins with making an partial double crochet, meaning you only make half of the double crochet. All you do is yarn over insert hook into stitch, draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through only two of the loops on your hook leaving two loops to be used later. This is a short blog about  Grandma Leona's Hot Pad by  Kathleen Mower at  Miss Abigail's Hope Chest . I can not take any credit for this pattern, Kathleen gets all the credit for this pattern. I am only wanting to promote this free pattern, and show you my work. This hot pad does not use any special stitch, just a simple single crochet stitch.
