The Week Of

The Week Of....

It seems like I just posted about having a booth at the Apple Festival and now it's just 3 days away. I have been busy getting stuff finished and making sure I have every thing I need.

Pot holders, Dish clothes like your granny use to use, hats, kitchen towels with crocheted toppers. I have been working on earrings and I am liking them, no I don't wear earrings but I bet they'll look cute in your ear.

I will also have Apple themed items. Come out and see me I and visit my church's booth for some hamburgers and hot dogs, or just need wet your whistle. They will also have apple butter made the same way for 100 years. Apple Festival will begin 8 a.m. Friday morning ending Saturday evening at 9 p.m.

Grandma Leona's Hot Pad

This is a short blog about  Grandma Leona's Hot Pad by  Kathleen Mower at  Miss Abigail's Hope Chest . I can not take any credit for this pattern, Kathleen gets all the credit for this pattern. I am only wanting to promote this free pattern, and show you my work. This hot pad does not use any special stitch, just a simple single crochet stitch. However its the way you make the single that makes this hot pad thick and durable, and here's how. The rows overlap the previous row. I have not done this technique before, but it's really easy to learn. This hot pad has become one of my favorites to make because of the thickness and sturdiness of the finished product, and I like to use 100% cotton so it holds up to the heat better. If  your interested in the pattern head over to  Miss Abigail's Hope Chest   you will find the free pattern and  how she found this pattern while shopping at her favorite craft store. When she saw a beautiful sample of  Gran...

Finally

Finally feeling like fall. What a wonderful way to start out the day with fall in the air, some well needed rain, a hook, yarn and coffee! To bad I haven't been to the store yet for more pumpkin spice creamer, don't taste the same with near 90 degree temps we've had for 2 months here in East, TN. Currently on my hook is a bunny security blanket. They are throwing a baby shower for a co-worker at my wife's job and someone ordered it as a gift. I'm taking a break so I can talk to you all. Can't believe Halloween is right around the corner and you know what that means Thanksgiving and Christmas is on it's way.
